Sixteen ribs, confirmed by the manufacturer: double a standard city umbrella. The point isn't the number itself but what it does — the canopy is held at twice as many points, so it stays taut instead of deforming between the ribs when the wind pushes. The pattern is Tanjiro's green and black checkerboard, arguably the most recognizable in the whole series, and it works especially well on a canopy: the regular geometry reads clearly even from a distance and even in motion.
